Reduces wastage of cold foil by 55%

manroland Canada recently received a Bronze award for “Most Environmentally Progressive Printing Technology” at the Canadian Printing Awards.

The manroland entry “Cold Foil Indexing with an InlineFoiler" demonstrated the considerable savings achieved in unused foil material with every rotation of the printing cylinders. Result - The function of indexing allows for the stopping of the foil web while the cylinder gaps pass. This equates to an 18.4% reduction in foil consumption and in combination with the multi reel capabilities of the InlineFoiler, the reduction of cold foil during the application process was reduced by more than 55%. Many print jobs have only to be enhanced in certain areas of the printed sheet and with the multi-reel-capability, the customer is able to only apply cold foil in specific areas. However with the combination of multi-reel and indexing more than 55% of cold foil can be saved.
