Offenbach 28 November 2013. Speaking in a webinar interview with the european global trade press, CEO Mr. Rafael Penuela reported that in an environment where other press manufacturers are experiencing difficulties, Manroland Sheetfed GmbH expect to announce a turnover in excess of its €300 million target and a positive operating profit. He said:
“With our current structure, we are prepared to stay profitable with the current business volume.”
Emphasizing the crucial importance of over 40 Manroland Sheetfed subsidiaries across the world, he said: “We manage more than 85% of our revenue via our own distribution channel. Our subsidiaries are an important asset for our business.”
Acknowledging that the market environment for printers remained difficult in the foreseeable future, Mr Penuela pointed to the technology of automation as the key to survival and growth.
Manroland Sheetfed’s service principle of ‘customer first’ had reaped just rewards for its investment in the performance element of its customer services:
“Over the years we have been able to offer a full portfolio of service solutions to support our customers. Our service is more than a repair workshop. We are offering our customers performance of their investment.
“Automation is the solution, which is why Manroland Sheetfed has developed and will continue to develop automation technology such as the InlineFoiler to make conventional products more attractive through value added.”
The ability to offer customers higher productivity with lowered costs had been a key part of Manroland Sheetfed’s success, and this was set to continue in the coming year. Looking to 2014, Mr Penuela said:
“Following our philosophy of catering to customers’ success, the focus on machinery business, aftermarket and consumables will stay at the centre of our 2014 strategy.”
