PressManagement

From administration/prepress to the press, all work steps are bundled into one word: printnetwork® saving time and money and improving quality.

Perfect job administration. The printnetwork® IntegrationPilot workflow lets printing companies of any size assert and develop their position in the market. All data and processes are networked into a smooth-running operation. In JDF workflow, the printnetwork® IntegrationPilot 2.0 automatically prepares jobs, assigns the PPF data, and automatically performs all technical presettings. The result: a significant amount of time is saved, printing results are improved and with less waste. The IntegrationPilot* also improves operating convenience. Highlights include CIP3 and JDF workflow as well as detailed planning of printing job sequences.

Convenient data input. Shop floor data collection with IntegrationPilot plus 2.0 enables simple and fault-free after-job cost accounting and control. In contrast to conventional SFDC terminals, this makes it possible for the operator to input the reasons for waiting, auxiliary, and downtimes at any time and without stress resulting from an idle press – even after the completion of a job.

Flexible workflow. With printnetwork® you implement the workflow that puts you ahead. Depending on operational conditions, printnetwork® can be optimally ad-justed to individual work processes. Option ranges from complete networking with printnetwork® IntegrationPilot plus 2.0 in JDF workflow to simple networking of prepress and machine with the printnetwork® IntegrationPilot smart 2.0.

QualityManagement

Precise ink control. The ColorPilot ink measuring and controlling system measure print control strips at a high speed of 25 centimeters per second. This allows densitometrical and colorimetrical values to be measured simultaneously, ensuring consistently high printing quality. As a result, make-ready and controlling times as well as waste are drastically reduced, especially for difficult printing jobs.

Effective waste reduction. The ROLAND InlineInspector contributes to waste reduction by detecting all types of faults early on. Errors are instantly detected, allowing the press operator to react immediately. Three fault ratings can be set, as well as five sensitivity stages. The system detects faults including hickeys, scratches, streaks, creases and dog-eared corners, splashes of water, oil and washing agent, scumming, clear ink deviations, doubling, and faults in the printing substrate.

ColorPilot. printnetwork® opens up more flexibility in color management. Automatic ink presettings from printnetwork® provide the ideal basis for color control. This makes it possible to further shorten the make-ready phase in conjunction with the ColorPilot color control system.

ColorPilot smart. ColorPilot smart is the entry-level system for color control and provides documented, stable quality. That makes the printing process even more efficient.

Don’t leave the final check to chance. printnetwork® quality management ensures that only good sheets with consistently high quality leave your facility.

Gray balance control. Thanks to okBalance® you achieve highest-possible stability throughout the entire run. The software complements the proven solid density control of the ColorPilot system by gray balance control. The advantage: with four-color images and tertiary hues in particular, the human eye reacts more sensitively to fluctuations in the superimposed halftones than to fluctuations in solid densities. okBalance® takes this into account and applies it to ink slide control.

Fault-free production. The ROLAND InlineInspector detects even extremely minor faults. A camera installed on the last printing unit inspects each and every sheet for any faults. A tape inserter automatically marks defective sheets at full production speed. The ROLAND InlineInspector makes manual random checks unnecessary and reduces complaint costs.

Complete start-to-finish color control. With the ROLAND InlineColorPilot, Manroland has taken the next logical step: color control in the press. This makes it unnecessary to pull proofs for ink measuring and controlling, saving time in both the make-ready phase and production run while increasing the stability of the printing quality. Moreover, complete run documentation is a quantum leap for quality control in the press.
