JBM Envelope Invests in the World’s Fastest Make-Ready Press

Manroland Sheetfed announces that JBM Envelope, a speciality print & packaging company, unveils their Manroland Sheetfed DirectDrive 41-inch six-color press with Inline Sheeting.

“JBM Envelope is ideally positioned for future growth with the addition of the ROLAND 700 DirectDrive press. It will become the cornerstone of our printing format, as well as the workhorse in our upgraded pressroom,” says Marcus Sheanshang, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of JBM said.

The envelope continues to evolve as with its fundamentals in place and a focus on future technology. JBM is an industry leader. The company began as an envelope broker in 1985. Greg Sheanshang, founder of JBM, advanced a bold strategy to bring manufacturing in-house. Within the walls of an 8,000 square foot facility in Cincinnati, OH – JBM Envelopes the innovator was born.

In 1994, JBM moved operations to Lebanon, OH (Greater Cincinnati.) Today JBM resides a state-of-the-art 100,000 square foot facility and is under the management of Marcus Sheanshang.

“Innovation in envelopes is a great way to describe JBM,” noted Michael Mugavero, Manroland Sheetfed CEO for US & Canada. “JBM has distinguished itself among its competitors by offering superior advantages and responding to customer demands. The industry JBM serves is extremely competitive. Advantages developed to reduce costs and work in progress cycles position JBM optimally. We know that customers demand tight control of branded colors, blazing fast turnaround time, little or no inventory, and of course, a competitive price. By investing in the ROLAND 700 DirectDrive, JBM will have the upper hand and offer the best combination to retain existing business and garner new customers,” says Mugavero.

“We sought a press that would provide us with fast changeovers and high net run speeds as well as advanced color management. This provides our customers with the best performing product possible. We toured the Manroland Sheetfed factory in Germany and witnessed the capability of the ROLAND 700 DirectDrive in their Print Technology Center. The professionalism of the Manroland Sheetfed team along with the superior DirectDrive press features were critical to our choice,” Marcus Sheanshang said.

Dan Puthoff, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of JBM noted “The design of several key features on the ROLAND 700 DirectDrive were decisive reasons in our choice. The advanced simultaneous features that included the ability to load plates, change a coating form while washing the press including the impression cylinder, while sending ink profile changes (all in one function) are significant differences over the current press manufacturer. This drove our selection to Manroland Sheetfed,” Puthoff said.

Doug Zirkelbach, Regional Sales Manager for Manroland Sheetfed commented “The Manroland Sheetfed package of unique automation controls will play a vital role in JBM’s continued envelope evolution.”

“Although the press garners attention, the truest competitive edge is our JBM team members. We believe it will be key to maintaining our growth and propelling our firm forward in the decades to come.” Marcus Sheanshang said.

Higher productivity and faster turnaround time while with less cost, JBM is expected
to have the upper hand by investing in the ROLAND 700 DirectDrive.
