Estonian book printer soars to new heights

Tallinna Raamatutrükikoda installs new eight-color ROLAND 708P HiPrint with SPL and InlineColorPilot

Founded in 1985, Tallinna Raamatutrükikoda (Tallinn Book Printers) is the first printing company exclusively dedicated to book printing and bookbinding. After three decades, the company became one of the leaders in book publishing in Estonia with a 60% export percentage. The graphic park occupies an area of 15,000 m2 and employs approximately 130 employees.

Member of the Board, Mr. Veljo Vihmann, summed up the company's success: "Great ideas, professional experiences and close collaboration with customers always guarantee good results".

Mr. Vihmann places this in the technological advancements and management systems of the company.

In 2002, they bought their first ROLAND 700 and two more ROLAND 700 in 2005 and 2007.

In 2016, the company updated its fleet of machines with a new ROLAND 708 P 4/4 HiPrint with SPL and InlineColorPilot to replace the 2002 printer.

"In our market, small print runs are normal. That's why we needed to reduce costs per copy, increase production capacity and productivity, especially in peak seasonal periods. We are happy that this printer can do all this, "added Mr. Veljo Vihmann.

SPL (Simultaneous Sheet Switching) can significantly reduce set-up times and labor costs, since the printing plates on all print units can be changed at the same time and during the automatic washing process.

InlineColorPilot with the InlineRegister function not only ensures color consistency but also reduces settling time, as it automatically measures and regulates ink density and registration accuracy on both sides, and detects and corrects, even online The minimum deviation in the total speed of production, without the need to remove the sheets of the printer.

All are contributing factors to cost savings per copy and excellent print quality.

The automation components in the ROLAND 700, such as InlineColorPilot and the SPL system, have significantly improved productivity with cost savings

Mr. Veljo Vihmann thanked Manroland Sheetfed for its strong support and excellent after-sales service over the years. "These are key factors when we make investment decisions," he said.
