ROLAND 700 helps Japanese print company to leading position

Quality, planning and creative boost for pharmaceutical printer Taiyo Package

Adapting to long-term changes in pharmaceutical industry, Toyama based print company Taiyo Package Co Ltd recently invested in a new ROLAND 707 LV, with spectacular results.

The new machine has enabled Taiyo, long respected as a pharmaceutical print company for both OTC (Over The Counter) and prescription medicine packaging, to adapt to government-led changes in the pharmaceutical industry.

Expanding on rationale behind the company’s recent investment, Taiyo President Mr Yukihiro Kusonoki said:

“Government cost-cutting recommendations over the past ten years or so have resulted in greater public consumption of over-the-counter medicines.

“While Taiyo had always been respected for its efficiency and print quality, the demand for more distinctive, eye-catching printing of OTC products presented us with some challenges.

“While printing for premium pharmaceutical packaged products is back on track, our existing 6 unit press could not give us the production efficiency required.

“Our new ROLAND 707 LV helps us meet a vast range of substrate and embossing requirements and delivers amazing quality.”
