2018 Manroland Printing Technology Training Session proves a big hit in Dongguan

Following the success of the kick-off event in Guangzhou, Manroland Sheetfed's “2018 Printing Technology Training Session” headed off to Dongguan where it was greeted by an enthusiastic audience. Over 180 printing technology professionals sat down with Manroland's technical team for in-depth discussions on the latest in printing technology and equipment management.

In his speech welcoming the participants, Samuel Tam, General Manager of Sheetfed Division and Corporate Marketing at Manroland Greater China, spoke of the severe challenges facing mainland printers because of the economic and environmental changes at home and abroad, and how to get the most out of existing printing equipment and maintain high levels of production - all vital issues for printing companies today.

Roy Xu, Head of Print Services and General Manager of the Beijing branch: “As a world leader of printing equipment and solutions, we are committed to providing customers with cutting-edge technology and equipment management solutions. Our prime objective is continued profitability for our customers enabling them to stand out in the face of today's fierce market competition.

"Equally important to the industry is green printing, especially in these enlightened times" said Thomas Luk, Head of Printcom. "There’s a greater push for environmentally-friendly businesses in China" he explained "with laws and regulations gradually improving. We help printing companies implement green printing through process technology and material supplies".

The training session took in the different perspectives of the participants and the challenges confronting customers. Manroland's printing solutions were offered to help these printers maximize the use of their presses. These include:

Printing technology and process sharing.

As the flagship model of the Manroland medium-format product line, the ROLAND 700 EVOLUTION has been widely recognized by global printing companies since its launch in 2015. The ROLAND 700 EVOLUTION’s new operating concept and extensively updated technological applications have enabled its users to achieve a leap in productivity and print quality.

During the Dongguan event, Leo Ze, Sales Manager, Manroland Sheetfed Division, South China, gave a detailed description of the technical upgrades and updates of the ROLAND 700 EVOLUTION.

Ms. Janny Zhang, General Manager, Manroland Sheetfed Division South China and Hong Kong, introduced the Ultima customized model. A product of Manroland innovation, the Ultima's custom-made models are tailored to each company's unique printing process requirements, resulting in unparalleled efficiency and market competitiveness. As printing automation increasingly becomes the norm, printing companies’ demand for automated solutions increase significantly, Mr. Xu introduced the Manroland AUPASYS, a highly flexible logistics solution designed to bring printing operations processing efficiency.

Equipment maintenance and full staff efficiency.

Carson Xia, Director of Technical Support, Manroland China Engineering Services, introduced Manroland's service concept: TPM (Total Productive Maintenance). The emphasis was on “production maintenance” and “full participation”. Beginning with improving equipment management, existing equipment operation is maximized and by avoiding errors in equipment utilization, the business management system continuously increases resulting in a reduction in cost and a boost in overall efficiency.

In addition, Carson Xia also discussed daily maintenance and repair techniques, operating procedures and technical principles of the ROLAND 700 printing press. With the help of technical experts, customers were able to clarify the operating principles and technical details. This will allow them to constantly improve and upgrade the equipment maintenance management level and achieve a substantial increase in production efficiency.

Printed materials and green printing.

As an advocate of green printing in China, Manroland offers customers a series of high-quality and environmentally-friendly printcom products and magicpix series. According to Maxco Tang, Manager, Manroland Printcom China, only through certified environmentally-friendly, high-quality printing materials can customers achieve green printing. This will improve their competitiveness and open the door to more business opportunities offered by clients who share their concern for a clean and healthy environment. Overall operating costs are also reduced, resulting in greater profits.

UV/LED curing technology.

Alfred Chan, Technical Sales Director of Eltosch Asia, talked about the LED curing solution. The ROLAND 700 EVOLUTION is equipped with an energy-saving UV/LED drying technology option that offers printing companies many benefits: brighter colors on a wide range of substrates, increased productivity, lower costs and an environment-friendly approach. These advantages drive the development of short-run printing. LED technology enables instant curing on paper, synthetic or metallized materials. As this technology eliminates the need for spraying powder, the environmental benefits are significant.

The training session also included a special visit to Dongguan Junxing Printing Co., Ltd. Customers experienced first hand how Manroland's printing solutions can help them maintain equipment, optimize production and increase efficiency.

Thanks to the active participation of the guests, the training session in Dongguan proved a big success. Adhering to the "customer first" service principle, Manroland will continue to create a brighter printing future with customers through superior equipment, cutting-edge technology, quality service and all-round printing solutions.
